King George V was King of the United Kingdom and the British Dominions and Emperor of India between 1910 and 1936. He was the first cousin of Tsar Nicholas II of Russia and Kaiser Wilhelm II of Germany. On July 17, 1917 he abandoned all German titles and changed the name of the royal family to Windsor from Saxe-Coburg-Gotha.
