Battle of Dogger Bank

The Battle of Dogger Bank was a naval battle that took place between British and German forces on January 24, 1915. The British had learned that a German squadron was heading in the direction of Dogger Bank and sent a large number of warships to intercept it. When the Germans came across the British fleet, they turned around and headed back. The British fleet gave chase and slowly caught up. They sank the German armoured cruiser Blücher, but in doing so broke off the pursuit of the German fleet and allowed it to escape.
